The golden pheasant (Chrysolophus pictus) is a bird of the order of galliforms (gallinaceae) and of the family of phasianidae.
It is native to forests in the mountainous regions of western China, but wild populations have been established in the United Kingdom and elsewhere.
The adult male is 90-105 cm long, with its tail representing two-thirds of the total length.
Crest/Topping golden pheasant crest feathers are bright yellow and are used in many salmon or pike fly montages, as well as some streamers.
